Postdoctoral Scholar — Decision-making Analysis
The Global Institute for
Sustainability (GIOS) and the Decision Center for a Desert City (DCDC) is seeking a Psychologist to fill a
Postdoctoral Scholar position at Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ.
DCDC has developed a systems dynamics model of Central Arizona water supply and
demand under varying rates of population growth and different climate change
scenarios. This model is visually presented in ASU's Decision Theater. We
are seeking a researcher who can design and conduct well-controlled
experimental studies that evaluate the impact of Decision Theater presentations
on human decision-making processes.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. at the time of appointment in one of the
following subject areas: environmental psychology, social psychology, cognitive
psychology, or experimental psychology. Candidates must have a background and
interest in the cognitive and social processes that underlie human
decision-making, and published research that demonstrates experience in
experimental research methods and data analysis. Desired qualifications include
a background in theory and research pertaining to the human use of
environmental resources. A background check is required for employment.
